Ore Yeye Osun,Osun as a warrior can be discussed as an attribute of Osun. In many Ifa verses, we can see instances where Osun fought wars and won. Also, she is an Osoronga because, as a if not the leader of women, she could be called or seen as Aje or Osoronga. This is better considered as an attribute rather that seen that as a different entity like Ogun and Esu. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Aboru Aboye baba,I knew this would happen...Waterflow and i are not speaking of YeYe Osun....we are asking of Osun, the warrior who sits next to Esu and Ogun...represented by a staff. I wish it were spelled different because it gets confusing. If I had more knowledge I could speak on him more....a friend of mine was given the name Amosun...this is for Osun the warrior. I hope I have made myself clear...we still look forward to your respose, or anyone else who can speak on this warrior. At the temple, Ogun, Esu and the Osun staff are outside together....thanks for any info..... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Though in some Ifa verses, Osun is female and a verse even calls her a wife of Orunmila, Osun is a male Orisa according to many Ifa verses. This Orisa in Ifa is portrayed as both male and female like many other Orisa. In Osebirete, a verse says:A difa fOsun Ganga, ti se Omokunrin orun Osun moriro ki o ma dubule Ooro gangan la n ba Osun Cast Ifa for Osun Ganga, a man in heaven Osun, stand erect and do not lie down It is on erecting position we meet Osun Opa Osun (Osun staff) must not fall down; it is a taboo. When it happens, certain rituals are made. This staff must always available whenever Ifa initiation is taking place. It is always in Babalawo,s house. 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |
